Although it’s offseason, a lot is happening behind the scenes and thought it was best to update you all.

We have added (or will add very soon):

• #nbl-socials → We are deepening our relationship with the NBL and becoming the ~~un~~official Discord community for all things NBL. More changes below will reflect that too. This channel will show all of the NBL social posts for you to stay updated all from Discord.
• #team-select → React to which team you go for and receive that team’s role. This will give you access to their social media feed and a place to chat to likeminded fans about new signings, matches and anything else your heart desires. If you had a team role for Finals Fantasy, we have instead given you the role of "Finals Fantasy Participant"
• New @Mods ! → A super team of our most passionate Chainz & NBL Discord members has been built. Steph, Dray, Klay & KD have nothing on this team. We are extremely grateful for each of our mods and know they will support and grow our community alongside you all. Feel free to tag them when you need!
• XP! → We’ve heard the chatter and see that people wanted the XP grinding & levelled roles added back in. It is now here to stay. See #level-up for more info.
• Cleaned up channels → Some channel & category names have been changed to make it easier for new users to find their way around. This is important with all of the new Chainz members that will be coming VERY soon!

Club Collaborations

We are in deep conversations with 2 of the biggest clubs (20% of all clubs!) for a collab during NBL24. Not much more to share yet but very exciting news for the next season!

Marketplace Update

Our developers are diligently working away on the marketplace, and we are making significant progress towards announcing a launch date. We will continue to update you as we go!

Set Plays

Set Plays Challenge #3 will begin inline with the launch of the marketplace, including Genesis moments!

All of the rewards moments from the Andrew Gaze Awards Pack are ready to go as soon as our devs have time (post marketplace launch).

New Chainz Packs

Although we are in a time of waiting, we heard the community’s voices when the last pack was launched so we have decided to not launch anymore packs until after the marketplace launch. However, the next pack is completely ready to go and just needs to be put onto the site. This will be focused on the NBL 23 Finals

Website Redesign

We have finished a complete overhaul of our website, it will look almost unrecognisable but looks CLEAAANNN 🧽 Can’t wait to show you all! This only needs dev work now so will likely come with the next pack drop.

Upcoming AMAs

Do you play NBA 2K? I’m sure you do. Well the NBL have a pro esports team in the NBA 2K League called NBL Oz Gaming. We will be joined by some of the team/coaches in the coming weeks for an AMA. We also will start to livestream some games in Discord to cheer our Aussies on during their playoff run!

Also, I will be getting on an AMA to talk everything Chainz sometime in the next week as well. Look out for more info there 👀

Games Night

Due to my sickness, this was put on hold. I’m back at my best again so we will reschedule this shortly too. Maybe we will do it on the same night as the AMA

NBL Partnership

Some have asked about the level of NBL involvement in Chainz and I wanted to clarify for everyone. We have AT LEAST 2 meetings with the NBL every single week with many other phone calls, text messages and emails throughout the week as well. I don’t think any sports NFT project is as closely linked with their sporting body as Chainz is with the NBL, hence why the League Commissioner, Jeremy Loeliger, knew so much about Chainz during his AMA.

TL;DR Although there may be moments of doubt or quieter times during the offseason, be confident that Chainz has the biggest of backing and is here to stay. The NBL love the community that is being built here and want to do everything they can to support it. Journey together with us!
